Strong Museum closes ‘out of an abundance of caution’ after receiving threat

A threat led to the closure of the Strong Museum in Rochester on Wednesday, the Democrat & Chronicle reports.

A museum official told the newspaper that the threat of violence was made against specific employees at a diner within the building.

“The safety and well-being of our guests is of the utmost importance, and out of an abundance of caution we decided to close for the day,” Shane Rhinewald, the museum’s director of public relations, told the Democrat & Chronicle.
