The driver of the car involved in the Delaware Park fatal crash that killed Maksym Sugorovskiy, 3, and critically injured his sister was stripped of his driver’s license after a hearing last month before the state Department of Motor Vehicles, according to Mark Cantor, an attorney representing the Sugorovskiy family.
Christian P. Myers, 28, of Buffalo was not charged in the May 30 crash, when his car veered off the westbound Scajaquada Expressway and hit Maksym, his 5-year-old sister and their mother, Mary Sugorvskiy. Myers told police he was asleep at the wheel when his Chevrolet Malibu ran over a grassy median and struck the family on Ring Road.
The development follows the announcement by Cantor that the family intends to take civil action against the City of Buffalo and Erie County.
After the crash, the speed limit on the Scajaquada was lowered from 50 mph to 30 mph.
