Woman cut in head during attack on East Side

A woman suffered cuts to her head during an attack Monday morning in the Broadway-Bailey neighborhood. She was taken to Erie County Medical Center.

The woman told police a man had something metal in his hands when he attacked her near Hirschbeck Street and Pullman Place at about 6:45 a.m., according to a police report.

The woman, who was treated and released from ECMC, described the suspect as a black male who stood about 5-foot-11 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He wore jeans and a gray sweatshirt with a black shirt underneath, the report said.
