A 51-year-old Buffalo woman was arrested for drunken driving Friday night by state troopers as she allegedly speeded down Bailey Avenue weaving between lanes. Doreen Banks was charged after she was tested and showed a blood-alcohol reading of 0.16 percent, twice the state’s legal limit. Bankis was charged with driving while intoxicated, speeding, failure to keep right, having no brake lights on her vehicle, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. She faces further proceedings in Buffalo City Court. Banks was arrested by state troopers assigned to Buffalo’s Operation G.I.V.E effort, part of New York State’s Gun Involved Violence Program.
