FETZEK, Mary A. (Walczak)

FETZEK - Mary A. (nee Walczak) Of the Town of Wheatfield, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Born in North Tonawanda, on August 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna (nee Pradun) Walczak. A woman of varied interests over the years, Mary could be found cooking, knitting, gardening, hat-making or upholstering furniture. She enjoyed keeping the traditions of her Polish heritage. Mary resided in North Tonawanda for most of her life, recently moving to Wheatfield. She attended local schools and was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School, Class of 1947. Mary was employed at the Wurlitzer Co. for many years and after its closing, she worked at National Grinding Wheel and Bell Aerospace. She was proud to be a member of Stephen Sikora Post #1322 Women's Auxiliary and North Tonawanda and Wheatfield Senior Citizens and was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Beloved wife of the late George P. Fetzek who died in 1977; cherished mother of Michele (Wayne) Christman; sister of the late Rose (late Joseph) Borowiec and the late Matthew Walczak. The family will be present to greet relatives and friends on TUESDAY, December 15 from 7-9 PM and WEDNESDAY, December 16 from 2-5 and 7-9 PM at the SABER FUNERAL HOME, 549 Oliver St., North Tonawanda (692-0271). Family and friends are asked to gather at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church (Oliver St.) for a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated Thursday at 9:30 AM. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Flowers graciously declined. Memorial gifts may be made in Mary's honor to the O.L.C. Gardening Angels.
