Robber hits M&T Bank branch on Grant Street

A man robbed $500 from a bank on the city’s West Side Thursday afternoon, Buffalo police said Friday.

The robbery happened at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the M&T Bank at 130 Grant St., according to police reports.

The man walked into the bank and displayed a note to the teller.

“Robbery,” the note stated. “Empty both drawers. No dye packs. No stacks. No GPS.”

The man ran out of the bank with about $500.

The suspect was described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, about 150 pounds and 5 feet, 5 inches tall. He was wearing a black hoodie, gray sweatpants with white letters, black Nike sneakers with a white Nike symbol and thick black-rimmed glasses.
