Man in critical condition after being hit by SUV near UB South Campus

A 20-year-old man was listed in critical condition in the trauma unit at Erie County Medical Center Thursday evening after he was struck by a sport utility vehicle as he crossed Niagara Falls Boulevard at Main Street near the University at Buffalo’s South Campus, police said.

Witnesses told police the man came out between parked cars and ran into the street at about 6 p.m.. He was struck by a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 52-year-old North Tonawanda woman that had turned from Main onto Niagara Falls Boulevard.

The names of the injured man and the driver were not released.
