Letter: Permanent restrooms are needed at Canalside

Permanent restrooms are needed at Canalside

Canalside has, by all accounts, been a great success. On any given day you can find families, couples and tourists enjoying numerous activities. It’s become a great asset to the city.

However, there are some problems and issues. The lack of a permanent bathroom is an obvious one. How can a place that’s seen exponential growth over the years still rely on porta potties? It’s unacceptable. I think a four-season destination should be able to build a decent bathroom.

With winter upon us, the only thing chillier than the lake wind is the shudder that arises in people when they have to use a porta potty while all bundled up. To the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp., all I want for Christmas is a decent bathroom. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.
