Skeletal remains of male discovered by Chautauqua County hunters

DUNKIRK – Skeletal remains of a male were discovered about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday by hunters in Boutwell Hill State Forest, according to Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies were assisted at the scene – southeast of Dunkirk – by the Chautauqua County Forensic Team, Lakewood-Busti Police, Chautauqua County Emergency Services, New York State Forest Rangers, the state Department of Environmental Conservation and Mercyhurst Forensic Anthroplogy Team.

An investigation is underway.
