SUNY Buffalo State student robbed of cellphone at knifepoint

A SUNY Buffalo State student was robbed at knifepoint shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday near Iroquois Drive and Grant Street, campus police said.

The student, described as a male commuter, was robbed of his cellphone. He was not injured.

The robber was described as a “black male, 19 to 20 years old, medium complexion, approximately five feet, eight inches tall, thin build, wearing a black bubble coat and dark jeans.” He ran onto the campus toward the Tower residence halls, police said in an alert to students and staff.
