Dollar General store robbed by a man with a handgun in Niagara Falls

NIAGARA FALLS – A man armed with a handgun robbed the Dollar General store at 1802 Pine Ave. just before 8:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said that when an employee was unable to open a cash drawer, the bandit, armed with a small silver handgun, threatened to shoot him in the leg. A manager used her key to open the cash register and handed over an undetermined amount of cash, however.

Both employees were ordered to their knees and the robber ran off, leaving in a light blue sports utility vehicle, according to a witness..

Police described the bandit as a light-skinned black male, about 6 feet tall, medium to large build, wearing a red knit hat, gray hooded sweatshirt, camouflage half face mask, black pants with a patch, black sneakers and one light-colored glove and a dark-colored glove.
