Bette Ann Wolinski, retired registered nurse

Feb. 3, 1945 – Nov. 21, 2015

Bette Ann Luise Wolinski of Lake View, a registered nurse, died Nov. 21 after a long illness. She was 70.

Born in Buffalo, she was the daughter of Dr. Robert Franz, head of urology at Buffalo General Hospital. She was a graduate of Bennett High School and received her nursing degree from the Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing in 1966.

She worked as a registered nurse at Buffalo General Hospital, then for many years as a private-duty nurse through the Registry of Buffalo. After obtaining her specialty in dialysis, she worked with Kaleida Health Care and DaVita, where she continued to work part time until about a year ago. She also was licensed as a nurse in Florida.

For the past 22 years, Mrs. Wolinski was chief financial officer for the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, produced by her family and held each June at the Mendocino County Fairgrounds in Boonville, Calif. In recent years, she split her time between her home here and the family pear ranch on the Sacramento River.

Survivors include a brother, Robert C. Franz; and two sisters, Sharon L. Schultz and Gretchen.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Wayside Presbyterian Church, 5017 Lake Shore Road, Hamburg.
