Benson’s editorial cartoon on climate earns poor grade
Lisa Benson’s editorial cartoon of Dec. 2 depicts the Paris global climate summit as useless talk, as if its goals were of no importance, its efforts simply a disturbance of the air.
Our planet is being adversely affected by ozone depletion, ocean acidification, chemical pollution, fresh water depletion, etc. Our planet’s 10,000-year Holocene Epoch and its delicate balance between hot and cold is being ominously threatened.
For her sarcasm Benson gets an A plus; for her respect for science and those in Paris who are concerned for our future, she merits a D minus.
