Victim of atempted holdup struck with gun

A man told Buffalo police he was pistol-whipped early Saturday during an attempted robbery in the city’s Kensington-Grider neighborhood.

The incident happened about 2:30 a.m. on Colfax Avenue, where the victim was in a vehicle, according to police reports.

A man approached the vehicle and displayed a handgun, then tried to force his way into the vehicle before striking the victim with the chrome revolver, police said.

A round from the gun may have discharged during the attempted robbery.

Officers arrived at the scene and found a trail of blood leading to Wyoming Avenue.
