The Erie County Sheriff’s Office will be boosting its presence at Buffalo Bills home games.
Citing “recent events,” the sheriff’s office is putting more K9 units as well as uniformed and plain clothes deputies through Ralph Wilson Stadium and Bills parking lots, the office announced Thursday.
There will also be “specialized security measures” deployed in and around the stadium, with vehicles entering Bills lots subject to inspection by police, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities said they are urging fans to stay vigilant and reminding them “if you see something, say something.” Individuals inside the stadium should report an incident or suspicious activity by using the Fan Text Line (69050), and people outside the stadium should call 911.
The sheriff’s office, which called the new measures “extra precautions,” has received no credible threats against the stadium, officials said.
