Citizens group wants residents to attend Tonawanda Coke hearing

A Tonawanda-based citizens group is asking the public to show its support for the $24 million fine levied against Tonawanda Coke as part of its criminal conviction .

Citizen Science Community Resources wants local residents to travel to New York City for the legal arguments in Tonawanda Coke’s appeal before the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals. The group thinks a show of support would help insure that two environmental studies earmarked for money from the fines will continue to move forward.

The legal arguments are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday in Foley Square, 40 Centre Street, Manhattan. For more information, contact Citizen Science Community Resources at 873-6191 or info@csresources.org.
