UMOJA MEETING: UMOJA Inc.’s annual Convening of the Elders brunch and community discussion will take place starting at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Community Action Organization Alphonso “Rafi” Greene Jr. Masten Resource Center, 1423 Fillmore Ave. Samuel A. Radford III will moderate. Food will be provided by Umoja Market Place. The event is sponsored by the Community Action Organization of Erie County.

HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER: Locust Street Art presents Paint the Town from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at 138 Locust St. Attendees are invited to create their own masterpiece. Food, drinks and other activities will be provided. Various works of art will be on sale. Tours of the Locust Street Art facilities will be offered. Tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door. PREPAREDNESS TRAINING SESSION: A citizen preparedness training session will be conducted by New York State and the American Red Cross from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hamburg Village Hall, 100 Main St.

HISTORY AWARD: The 12th Eye On History Award will be presented to George and Betty Jean Grant for their longevity in business at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Frank E. Merriweather Jr. Library, 1324 Jefferson Ave. For more than 35 years, the couple has operated Grant’s Variety Shoppe at 1055 E. Ferry St., one of the few black-owned delicatessens left in the African-American community, while also giving a helping hand to the surrounding community. The award was created by retired teacher Eva M. Doyle. The event is free and open to the public

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: True Bethel Senior Ministry will host a Christmas Bazaar and Wonderland from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at True Bethel Church, 907 E. Ferry St.

MEETING: The Niagara Falls Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at noon Saturday at Knead the Dough Restaurant, 3678 Ransomville Road, Ransomville. The luncheon meeting will feature a presentation by Michelle Kratts on “Local Hauntings.” Socks, underwear and personal hygiene items will be collected for veterans.
