Letter: No need for separate, transgender restroom

No need for separate, transgender restroom

A Nov. 28 letter in Everybody’s Column wrote of the need for “transgender only” bathrooms. I’m confused. If a male decides to be modified into a female and dresses as a female, or a female decides to be modified into a male and dresses as a male, what’s the problem?

If I remember correctly, all public bathrooms have private stalls. So if you are now a male, use the men’s room. Go into the stall, and no one knows your business or cares. When you’re done, walk straight to the sink, wash your hands and leave. The same holds true for females. Use the ladies room, wash up and leave. End of problem.

There is no need to spend money on a special room for a very small part of the population. Seems like the transgender people are just looking for more attention. Now that this problem is solved, I leave the problem of “transgender locker rooms” to the rest of the world.
