DUNKIRK – A 22-year-old Fredonia man was arrested early Wednesday after Dunkirk Police found items in his home that had been stolen from a Dunkirk home earlier in the morning.
Earvin I. Ezell was charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny and petit larceny and remanded to the Dunkirk City Jail by Dunkirk City Judge Walter Drag pending further proceedings.
Dunkirk police said they owed the arrest of Ezell to a person they would describe only as “an observant neighbor” who reported seeing the suspect leaving the house he had allegedly just burglarized on W. Howard Street. The neighbor supplied the license plate of the car, and it was traced to Ezell. Dunkirk Police, assisted by Chautauauqa County sheriff deputies and state troopers, raided Ezell’s home on Route 20.
Dunkirk police encouraged residents to report suspicious activity in their neighborhoods by calling the police department at 366-2255 or using the Dunkirk Police confidential tip line at 363-0313 or just call 911. All information provided is kept confidential, officials said.
