Police identify man killed, woman injured in Purdy Street shooting

Buffalo police on Tuesday identified the man and woman who were shot Sunday night on Purdy Street.

Antwaine Vance, 42, was killed and Dominique Jackson, 24, was wounded at about 8:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Purdy, police said. Jackson was listed Tuesday in stable condition at Erie County Medical Center, according to Buffalo police spokesman Michael DeGeorge, who said someone kicked open a door of the house and began shooting.

Police have said they are investigating a possible connection between the shooting and an accident shortly afterward in which a car drove down Woodlawn Avenue and plunged from Humboldt Parkway onto the Kensington Expressway some 25 to 30 feet below. The name of that driver has not been released and no charges have been filed against him.

Homicide detectives are still working on the case.
