Bruce G. Alesse, English teacher in city schools

July 27, 1956 – Nov. 28, 2015

Bruce G. Alesse, of Buffalo, a teacher of English in the Buffalo schools, died unexpectedly Saturday in Kenmore Mercy Hospital. He was 59.

Born in Buffalo, he was a 1974 graduate of Sweet Home High School and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication from the University at Buffalo.

He was head writer for Macrocosm, published by Ingram Inc., and general sales manager for Ralph Nader’s WBCT Channel 58, then became a teacher in the Buffalo schools. He taught English and language arts at School 44 Lincoln Academy, Bennett High School, Seneca Vocational High School, City Honors School, Lafayette High School and School 66 North Park Middle Academy.

An avid outdoorsman and supporter of the arts, Mr. Alesse enjoyed bicycling, camping and kayaking in the Adirondacks.

Survivors include his mother, Betty; three brothers, Craig, Matthew and Daniel; and a sister, Beth.

There will be no services.
