Bankruptcy filings fall 4.8 percent in Buffalo-Rochester

Bankruptcy filings in the Buffalo-Rochester market fell 4.8 percent in November from a year ago, to 340, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court’s Western District reported.

The decrease came entirely from Buffalo, where there were 213 filings compared to 230 a year ago, a decline of 7.4 percent. In Rochester, the number of cases was unchanged from November 2014.

Year to date, the number of cases filed was 4,155, down 7.4 percent from a year ago.
