Some rankings news.
The latest Northeast Regional rankings from MaxPreps have been released. Canisius is tied for 13th with Delaware's William Penn.
Canisius is not the highest ranking New York school in the poll, even though it is ranked first in the latest New York State Sportswriters' poll in Class AA.
Maine-Endwell (11th) and Archbishop Stepinac (12th) are the other state schools ranked ahead of the Crusaders, whose 20-game winning streak is the second longest active one in the state behind Maine-Endwell's 55 straight wins. Maine-Endwell, which won the state title in Class B last season is now a Class A school and ranked first in the state in that class. Stepinac lost in the state Catholic final to Canisius last year.
