Nursing officer to speak in Falls

NIAGARA FALLS – The U.S. surgeon general’s chief nursing officer, Rear Admiral Sylvia Trent-Adams, will be the keynote speaker at 10 a.m. Friday at the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York’s annual conference in Sheraton at the Falls, 300 Third St.

Trent-Adams, a native of Virginia and a former Army nurse, has served 23 years with the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps. The three-day conference, which will address the changing role of nursing in the health care system, will be attended by more than 600 nurse practitioners from across the state.
