Roland E. Pigeon of Orchard Park, a radiology technician, died Friday at Mercy Hospital due to complications from a stroke. He was 57.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Pigeon grew up in Orchard Park and graduated from high school. He earned an associate degree from Trocaire College and a bachelor’s degree from Canisius College. Mr. Pigeon worked as a radiology technician at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center from 1985 to 2010. Recently he had been working part time at Mobile Ex in Amherst.
Mr. Pigeon was active in the Orchard Park community, where he was a Republican committeeman, a member of the zoning and recreation committees and chairman of the Trails Task Force. He also was a former troop leader in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and served as a board member of the Orchard Park Little League. For the past several years, Mr. Pigeon played Rollo the Clown with the local chapter of the International Shrine Clown Association.
He is survived by his son, Roland; a daughter, Jennifer; his fiancée, Lynn Cooper; and his sister, Pamela Reister.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 43 Argyle Place, Orchard Park.
