Old Fort Niagara obtains $15,000 grant from the state

YOUNGSTOWN – The Old Fort Niagara Association received a $15,000 state grant last week, delivered to the fort by State Sen. Robert G. Ortt, R-North Tonawanda.

The association, which operates the historic military site, will use the money for equipment, including props for exhibits or reenactments, supplies, and interactive educational programs to teach visitors of all ages the history of the Niagara region in the 18th century, when the fort was built by the French and later captured by the British.
