Prudence C. Philbin, 43, of East Amherst, an attorney and partner with the Buffalo law firm Hamberger & Weiss, died Wednesday in Roswell Park Cancer Institute after a battle with cancer.
Born in Nyack, the former Prudence Fung was a University of Michigan graduate who came to Buffalo in 1994 and earned her juris doctor degree from the University at Buffalo Law School. While at UB, Ms. Philbin served as Student Bar Association president. She began her employment in the legal profession in 1998.
Ms. Philbin was a member of the Shared Decision Making Team of the Williamsville Central School District and a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Amherst. She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Scott M.; a daughter, Tessa; a son, Sean; and her parents, Leo and Rachel Fung.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Monday in St. Gregory the Great Church, 100 St. Gregory Court at Maple Road, Amherst.
