Two rescued from boat that grounded off Grand Island

Two persons were rescued Thursday from a private boat that grounded off Motor Island, an island off the coast of Grand Island, according to the Buffalo command of the U.S. Coast Guard. The two were taken to a Grand Island marina by a crew from the Grand Island Fire Company. The rescue effort began just before 9 p.m. and was completed by about 10 p.m. No injuries were reported, according to a Coast Guard spokesman.
