DUNKIRK – A prescription drug drop off day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the WCA ALSTAR headquarters, located behind School Number 3 at Rt. 60 and Orchard Street, Dunkirk. A drive-through area will be provided for deposit of drugs.
It is sponsored by the City of Dunkirk Police Department, WCA ALSTAR Ambulance, and the Chautauqua County Sheriffs Department in cooperation with the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency.
The prescriptions can be dropped off with no questions asked. Any unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue leading to accidental poisoning, overdose and abuse. Proper disposal of unused or expired prescription drugs can eliminate temptation for abuse or theft.
