The Olive Garden near the McKinley Mall is set to re-open, about 15 months after the building was destroyed by fire.
On Monday, Sept. 28, the restaurant, at 3701 McKinley Parkway in Hamburg, will reopen after a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the company said in a statement. "The restaurant will be led by Blasdell native Celine Mann, who has been with Olive Garden for more than 20 years and was previously at this location before the fire," the statement said.
The new-style Olive Garden, measuring 7,680 square feet, will include an "up-to-date design with new artwork, fabrics and materials, lighting, seating, countertops and flooring, as well as a stacked-stone entry tower" featurning the new Olive Garden logo sign. The restaurant will be able to seat 260, and employ a staff of more than 150.
The restaurant burned after a June 2014 grease fire. The blaze was ruled accidental.
When it reopens, it will be the fifth Olive Garden location in Western New York.
