Frewsburg man charged with felony DWI after traffic stop

MAYVILLE – A Frewsburg man faces several felony charges after he was pulled over early Monday for traffic violations, according to Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies.

Robert L. Houghwot Jr., 40, was pulled over on Frew Run Road in Carroll shortly before 12:30 a.m. Monday. His vehicle had faulty headlights and he failed to keep right, deputies said.

Houghwot, who had two children in his vehicle, was charged with multiple felony counts of driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation. Deputies said he had a DWI-related conviction within the past 10 years, and his license had been revoked.

He also was charged with a violation count of unlawful possession of marijuana.
