Robert and Kathleen McCormick

Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCormick of Getzville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends at the Niagara Sailing Club, Grand Island, hosted by their three sons. Monsignor Pat Keleher, pastor of the Newman Center, University at Buffalo North Campus, said a blessing and heard the vows that they wrote to each other. Mr. McCormick and the former Kathleen Walsh were married Sept. 11, 1965, in Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Mr. McCormick, an autoworker at General Motors in Tonawanda, was a press operator in the Forge plant for 24 years, and later a piston installer at the Powertrain plant for nine years. Mrs. McCormick worked in the medical records department at Kenmore Mercy Hospital for seven years and then as a receptionist at WIVB-TV for 17 years. They have three children and three grandchildren.
