Buffalo police probe fifth shooting in three days

A 21-year-old man was struck by gunfire around 12:45 a.m. Sunday while sitting in a vehicle near Bailey and Hewitt avenues, Buffalo police reported.

The victim was transported to Erie County Medical Center with apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives continue to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the confidential TIP-CALL line at 847-2255.

Sunday’s shooting was the fifth in the city since Friday, when three shootings occurred, followed by another Saturday night. One victim was reported in critical condition, while the others suffered what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
