Search crews unable to find woman who went over Niagara Falls

NIAGARA FALLS – Rescue and search crews have been unable to find a a woman who went over Niagara Falls early Saturday evening.

State Parks Police said the report came in at about 6 p.m. of the person going over the falls near Prospect Point in Niagara Falls State Park.

A witness’ video turned over to investigators showed the woman going over the brink of the falls, but a two-hour search from above and below the falls turned up nothing, Niagara Falls Fire Department Battalion Chief Mark Fontanella told reporters gathered at the scene.

Authorities, who were assisted by crews from the Maid of the Mist, also asked police in Niagara Falls, Ont., to be on the lookout.
