Niagara Falls man working tree-cutting job in Amherst is fatally injured in fall

A Niagara Falls man working as a tree cutter was fatally injured shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday after falling 35 feet to the ground at a job site near Hopkins Road in Amherst, Amherst police said.

Christopher J. Gordan, 39, was pronounced dead in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, police said. Gordan was cutting a large limb when another limb became dislodged and pushed him from the tree and to the ground, where he landed on his back, said police, who noted many people came to the victim’s aid before he was taken to the hospital.
