Buffalo teen found with defaced and loaded handgun and bags of heroin, police say

A 17-year-old faces three felony charges after Buffalo police said they found him with a loaded handgun and heroin on Grant Street Friday night.

Police were investigating a suspicious person call on Grant, between Auburn Avenue and Breckenridge Street, just after 9 p.m. when the Buffalo teen was found to be carrying a loaded .38-caliber pistol in his waistband with its serial number filed off, along with eight bags of heroin, according to a police report. The gun had four rounds of ammunition.

The teen was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, defacing a weapon and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to the report.
