LEWISTON – A mental health summit will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Castellani Art Museum at Niagara University. The events, organized by the Mental Health Association in Niagara County, is called “Changing Our Minds.”
Participants can expect to be educated on recognizing the signs of mental illness and responding to crises in daily life and in the workplace.
NU psychology professor Tim Osberg will talk about high suicide rates on college campuses, and State Sen. Robert G. Ortt, R-North Tonawanda, chairman of the Senate Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Committee, also will be part of the presentation. Eric Weaver, executive director of Overcoming the Darkness, also will speak.
