Niagara Falls Memorial to open women’s center Monday

NIAGARA FALLS – Women’s services in Niagara Falls will get an upgrade Monday, when Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center opens its new P3 Center for Teens, Moms and Kids.

P3 stands for planning, pregnancy and parenting, and the center is located within the Hamilton B. Mizer Primary Care Center at 10th Street and Ferry Avenue. Funded b y a four-year, $1.15 million state grant, the new center aims to reduce infant mortality, low birth weight babies and premature births. The staff, led by coordinator Sarah Obot, intends to fan out in the community and offer frequent programs on family planning, parenting, children’s health and health insurance, targeted at teenage girls, new parents and parents-to-be.
