State Police acting on a report of a vehicle heading the wrong way on Route 219 managed to locate the vehicle, stopped it and charged its operator with driving while intoxicated, officials reported Thursday.
Troopers, after stopping the vehicle that had been traveling north in the southbound lanes, administered a field-sobriety test, which they said the driver failed.
They charged Sharon Swan, 47, of North Collins, with driving while intoxicated. A blood test later revealed a blood-alcohol content of 0.16 percent, twice the legal drinking limit, State Police said.
The incident apparently occurred on Monday.
