Niagara County public libraries receive state aid checks

NORTH TONAWANDA – The directors of 11 public libraries in Niagara County received state grant checks Thursday from State Sen. Robert G. Ortt, R-North Tonawanda, at a gathering in the North Tonawanda Public Library.

The North Tonawanda and Lockport libraries received $20,000 each, while the other nine – Niagara Falls, Barker, Lewiston, Royalton-Hartland, Newfane, Ransomville, Sanborn-Pekin, Wilson and Youngstown – were granted $5,000 each.

The libraries may use the money for programs, the purchase of materials, community events or renovations.
