Lancaster contractor is charged with fraud

MIDDLEPORT – A Lancaster contractor was charged by State Police on Wednesday after he allegedly took $8,500 and for nearly a year he failed to complete a seasonal room he was hired to build.

Joseph Ferrante, 72, was charged with felony grand larceny and scheme to defraud. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Town of Royalton Court on Oct. 8.

The victim said Ferrante of Sunbilt Living was hired in October 2014 and was given $8,500 for the seasonal room, but completed no work, nor would he issue a refund.
