Defendant admits selling cocaine

A man who sold crack cocaine near two public housing complexes in Lackawanna is facing prison time.

Reginald Royal, Jr., 23, pleaded guilty this week before U.S. Magistrate Judge Leslie G. Foschio to distributing crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of public housing property.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Edward H. White said Royal sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant on three occasions in July of last year. The sales took place near Gates Housing Project and Baker Homes Housing Project. Both facilities are owned by the Lackawanna Municipal Housing Authority.

Royal’s guilty plea is the result of an investigation by the FBI and Lackawanna Police.
