Buffalo man sentenced in Falls gun case

LOCKPORT – A Buffalo man arrested Jan. 25 in Niagara Falls after a robbery at a 7-Eleven store will complete his Niagara County Jail term in 11 days, after County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III imposed a one-year sentence on him Thursday.

Because of the county’s “good time” policy for inmates, Daniel E. Rivera Jr., 20, of Meech Street, Buffalo, will complete his time for fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon by the end of the month. He was one of three men arrested in the alleged getaway car following the holdup on Niagara Avenue. Police found two handguns concealed in the back seat upholstery.

Micah T. Watson, 22, of Northampton Street, Buffalo, is awaiting sentencing for attempted second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Charges were dismissed against the alleged driver, Albert D. Richardson, 32, of 16th Street, Buffalo, after testing showed no sign of his DNA in the auto.
