Buffalo man accused of hitting boss’s vehicle with a shovel

NIAGARA FALLS – A Buffalo man was accused of damaging his boss’s car after he was disciplined for drinking on the job Wednesday, Niagara Falls police said.

Chad E. Hickey, 39, of Abbott Road was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing and second-degree physical harassment at 4:15 Wednesday in the 700 block of West Market Street. Police said he was arrested after he fled into a warehouse.

Police said that when the owner confronted Hickey about drinking on the job, the suspect threatened him, then hit the boss’s vehicle with a shovel. The owner said he planned to seek an order of protection.
