Seniors Matt Dineen and Nick Cecere were named captains for the Niagara Purple Eagles for the 2015-16 season while juniors TJ Sarcona and Kevin Patterson were named assistant captains.
Dineen was a captain last season for the Purps and the defenseman has played in 60 career games. Cecere, also a defender, scored two power play goals for Niagara last season.
Sarcona is the team's leading returning scorer after netting 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) in a season that started with the forward sidelined with a wrist injury. Patterson, one of Atlantic Hockey's Student-Athletes of the Year, was an important part of special teams last season scoring two power play and two short handed goals.
"As a staff we have limited time with the team so you need a room full of leaders all doing the right thing in the classroom, community and on the ice," coach Dave Burkholder said. "We are confident in the team and know our captains will help in this regard."
