Shortly after the Lake Shore School Board honored five August graduates who are now part of the Class of ‘15, thoughts of another annual tradition were on the mind of the student representative of the board from the Class of ‘16 - the prom.
Senior Emma Franco, who is the student representative at Board of Education meetings, said the decision was made to combine the senior and junior proms this academic year.
Because of fiscal constraints and wanting to hold the prom at a larger venue, Franco said a decision was made by class advisers to combine the two into one larger event.
“We went to the Statler,” said Franco, noting that fundraising efforts are underway to help offset the costs.
Superintendent James Przepasniak said he would talk to high szchool Principal Julie Hoerner to get more specifics on the changes.
