Two DWI arrests reported by State Police after Bills game

Two motorists were charged with driving while intoxicated as extra State Police patrols took to the roads after the Buffalo Bills’ season opener Sunday.

Both arrests occurred after traffic stops on Transit Road in Elma. Troopers also reported issuing 29 tickets Sunday.

Police said it was an equipment violation that led to the arrest of Justin L. Garbacz, 36, of Lancaster, who registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.15 percent in a breath test. The equipment violation wasn’t identified by police.

Speeding was the reason Donald J. Seifert, 64, of West Seneca was pulled over, police reported. Seifert refused to submit to a breath test, police said, which means he also will face a hearing by the state Department of Motor Vehicles on whether his license should be revoked.

Both men were released on tickets to appear in Elma Town Court.
