With the impending change of seasons comes a change of pace.
Here are three brand-new events gracing LGBT Buffalo this week.
Butch/Femme Kinship Meetup, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at MyBuffaloPride (224 Allen St.)
Many in the community may be unfamiliar with lesbian identities such as stone or stem, and perhaps that’s why the more mainstream lesbian activities in Buffalo aren’t necessarily appealing to everyone.
This inaugural meeting of the social club — catered to folks who identify as butch, femme, stone, stem, transgender and more — hopes to fill a void for those more entrenched in lesbian subcultures.
Enjoy snacks and refreshments while weighing in on future activities such as dinner outings, movies, game nights and coffee clutches.
What A Damn Crock, 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at Q (44 Allen St.)
An ode to the approaching autumn, your current reigning King of the Damned, Nick Vitello, ushers in the season with a slow-cooker competition. Enter your favorite Crock-Pot recipe for a shot at the surprise grand prize.
Gear up for Halloween while you fill your gut with a huge theatrical makeup sale: spirit gum, stage blood and liquid latex, plus all your basics — pan sticks, eye shadows and powders in wickedly good colors like purple and green.
It’s also the kick-off for Imperial Court of Buffalo’s Winter Warmth Clothing Drive, so bring your winter hats, scarves, mittens and other winter attire to donate to those in need.
Admission is $5 and includes unlimited tastings. All proceeds from the cook-off and makeup sale will benefit Buffalo United Artists, the local queer theater company.
The Imperial Revue, 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sept. 19 at Ohm Ultra Lounge (948 Main St.)
Join the Royal Family and friends of the court for a variety drag show featuring Jayme Cadelle Coxx.
Doors open at 10 p.m. with a power hour — $2 well drinks and domestic beer — plus $3 shot specials all night long. Cover is $3, and all proceeds benefit the charities of Reign 25.
