The Buffalo Rotary Foundation installed Ronald H. Caruso as president of its board of trustees for 2015-2016. Caruso is president of R.H. Caruso and Co. Other officers: Vice president, William P. Keefer, Phillips Lytle; secretary, Robert D. Eck, National Fuel Gas Distribution Corp.; assistant secretary, Carolyn Murray, Ellicott Development Co.; treasurer, Michael J. Grimaldi, Lumsden & McCormick; assistant treasurer, James J. Tyrpak, Tyrpak Financial Associates. Charles Martorana, Hiscock & Barclay, was installed as immediate past president. Newly-installed trustees: Robert D. Eck and Robert J. Galdys, SmartEdge. The Rushford Lake Recreational District elected Joseph J. Manna chairman of the board of commissioners. Manna is a senior partner at the law firm of Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria. The Rushford Lake Recreational District was chartered in 1981 through the New York State Legislature. The District is a statutorily created body that governs Rushford Lake, the Caneadea Dam, and municipally owned land around the bodies of water.

Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo is celebrating 50 years as the exclusive Mercedes-Benz dealer in Buffalo. Founded by Anthony LaMastra as Great Lakes Motor Corp., a Dodge and Plymouth dealership, it became one of the original 50 Mercedes-Benz dealerships in the country in 1965. Robert LaMastra, president of Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo and nephew of Anthony LaMastra, has owned the company, located at 8185 Main Street in Williamsville, since 1996. The dealership has more than 70 full time and part time employees.


The Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association Charitable Foundation awarded a grant of $15,000 per year to the Martin House Restoration Corp. for the next three school years. The money will be used to fund transportation costs and to help defray admission fees for students in elementary through high school.
