Two music festivals and a parade Saturday in Buffalo may translate into some headaches for drivers trying to get to or around them.
Traffic in and around the Music is Art Festival/Goo Goo Dolls concert in Delaware Park by the Marcy Casino and Rose Garden, Edgefest at the Outer Harbor and the Puerto Rican and Hispanic Day parade on Niagara Street could be heavy, and Buffalo Police said some roads will be closed. Police said motorists should expect delays, particularly getting to Music is Art and Edgefest.
Music is Art: From 10 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. –The 198 off ramps at Elmwood Avenue will be closed. The 198 westbound ramp from southbound Elmwood will be open. Iroquois Drive from Elmwood to Lincoln Parkway will be closed. Surrounding streets will be closed to non-residents.
Concert attendees are asked to exit the 198 at Grant Street and drive to the Buffalo State College parking lot located on Grant at Rockwell Drive. There will be a shuttle bus to the park.
Edgefest: From 1 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. – Outer Harbor Drive southbound from the Skyway will be closed. Traffic must exit Route 5 at Tifft Street and proceed around to the Outer Harbor parking areas. Route 5 inbound exits will be open as usual.
Hispanic Veterans 5K and Parade: From noon until 3 p.m. – Niagara Street from Niagara Square to Porter avenue will be closed.
